Las nominaciones de los Golden Globes 2023 por fin llegaron y aunque desafortunadamente no hay muchas sorpresas la competencia está bastante variada. Se celebra que la cinta Everything Everywhere All At Once alcanzó 5 nominaciones, entre ellas Mejor Actriz para Michelle Yeoh y Mejor Actriz de Reparto para Jamie Lee Curtis, además de posicionarse como mejor película -musical o comedia- y también compite por Mejor Director.
Otra cinta que sin duda resalta en estas nominaciones fue The Fabelmans, la cinta semi-autobiográfica de Steven Spielberg que está presente en las categorías de Mejor Banda Sonora, Mejor Actriz, Mejor Guion y Mejor Director. Cate Blanchett también brilla por su nominación como Mejor actriz por Tár, cinta que bajita la mano consiguió también una nominación como Mejor Película y Mejor Guion. Avatar: The Way of the Water y Top Gun: Maverick también están presentes para competir como las cintas más populares del año, pero lo curioso es que solamente tienen 2 nominaciones cada una de ellas.
Netflix en general está presente con 8 nominaciones y fue en gran medida el trabajo de Pinocchio de Guillermo del Toro, la cual alcanzó 4 nominaciones entre Mejor Película Animada, Mejor Banda Sonora y Mejor Canción. Este año las compañías de streaming no estuvieron tan presentes, ya que solamente Hacks de HBO Max y Severance de Apple Tv+ alcanzaron nominaciones en la competencia. Sin duda alguna, sorprende que la premiación no haya querido premiar a The Rings of Power a pesar de la ambiciosa producción, tampoco figuraron Harry Styles ni Tim Cruise en las categorías de actuación.
Sorpresas en las nominaciones las dio Elvis, que alcanzó 3 nominaciones en las categorías más importantes como Mejor Película, Mejor Actor y Mejor Director. Pero también Emma Thompson se destacó por su trabajo en Buena Suerte, Leo Grande.
